What Can I Expect

Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, you need a solid foundation. With correction of spinal subluxations, you will feel that "switch" turn on. You  will experience health like never before.  Many of your health issues will need to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body will tell you at different stages that you have attained your goals, whether they are correcting your posture (which can be so detrimental to organ health if incorrect posture is compressing these organs) or turning on the power by removing pinched nerves. The following stages of treatment may be typical if you suffer from joint pain from arthritis, disc injuries, or chronic pain.

Phase 1: Relief Care

At the Arlington chiropractic office, our first objective is to help you start feeling better as soon as possible. It may be typical for a patient to need chiropractic care or adjustments 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues heal more completely. Your overall sense of wellbeing is restored.  You feel well and have more energy. Your body works like a fine tuned machine so you can exercise like you used to. So the huge pay off is simply being healthier, having a lack of dis-ease, and of course stronger so reinjury is less likely. The goal of corrective or restorative chiropractic care will bring your body back to 100% functioning machine. Chiropractic care or adjustments about 2-4 times per month for approximately 12 months, may be all that your body requires.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Periodic chiropractic adjustments are key in maintaining a healthy flexible spine, as well as new found energy,  just as you maintain your health through regular exercise or regularly clean or care for your teeth or braces. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1 to 2 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.
